Interval Training

Once you’re comfortable moving beyond basic cardio workouts such as walking or even jogging it’s time to raise your heart a bit and switch things up. You can do this by using interval training, which is more fast paced and keeps your heart level up.

An example of interval training might be something like this:

  • 10 minutes warm up walking
  • 5 minutes jogging
  • 5 minutes stair stepper
  • 100 jump rope
  • 5 minutes jogging
  • 5 minutes biking
  • 10 minutes cool down

The whole point of this type of workout is to stimulate your cardiovascular system, maintain blood flow and make sure you’re still moving during the peak fat burning period.

Since it’s high intensity it’s also burning calories quicker, while creating breaks in the workout which allow you to stay more involved without getting as bored staring at the wall like you would on the treadmill.
